A 3D-casting model of the new casting is created from the CAD file.

The engineering team uses the model to conduct solidification analyses. This ensures a porosity-free casting and conformance with customer specifications. Next, the customer reviews the model and approves it or makes changes. Using models and computer analysis is much more precise, efficient and cost-effective than building a pattern and continually casting samples until they achieve performance expectations.

A pattern mold is designed using the approved new casting design. Casting impressions are placed on the pattern to effectively utilize all space in the mold and ensure casting quality.

The pattern design is then loaded into our CNC milling machine and the pattern is machined from a billet of aluminum. Here, the pattern for the mold is being cut on the CNC.

The finished part has been deburred and polished. Molding components have been added to complete the pattern.
