Megan Kirsh is the Fourth Generation Helming Kirsh Foundry

Customers can talk to a Kirsh for the foreseeable future

Since Kirsh Foundry’s humble beginnings, customers could talk to a Kirsh family member. It is one of the qualities that sets Kirsh Foundry apart from corporate providers. Four generations of Kirshes mean stability, reliability and trust.

Megan Kirsh is the fourth generation of the Kirsh family to step into leadership at the company, taking on operations at the foundry.

No stranger to Kirsh, Megan grew up watching her dad Jim Kirsh, Jr., grow into his leadership of the foundry. She never felt pressured to take over the family business, though she thought she would someday.

Megan studied child and human development at Arizona State University and went on to earn a Master of Science degree in marriage and family therapy from Northern Illinois University in 2011. She worked providing psychotherapy and addiction counseling services to low-income residents in the Milwaukee area to earn the hours required to become a licensed marriage and family therapist. It was difficult, draining work. Eventually, she took a break. When Jim offered the opportunity to join the foundry, she welcomed it.

Megan’s initial role at the foundry was in marketing, where she overhauled the company’s website, expanded the foundry’s presence on and use of LinkedIn and Facebook, and produced several short- and long-form videos explaining who Kirsh is and the company’s offerings. She then moved on to work alongside Jim and the sales team, meeting clients and improving upon the foundry’s sales processes. She traveled extensively to customer sites, becoming familiar with their needs and expectations

A counseling career still tugged at Megan. In 2021, she and her husband moved to Arizona where she began practicing therapy again. When her son was born in 2024, the couple was juggling full-time jobs with demanding schedules and caring for their newborn. They decided to return to Wisconsin where their family would be supported, and they could keep Kirsh Foundry in the family, and in the community of Beaver Dam.

Now, Megan focuses more on efficiency and productivity, working closely with human resources to ensure team members have what they need to be successful. She and Jim learned the loyalty built with their staff pays them back tenfold. The goal is to ensure Kirsh employees have a career, not just a job. Keeping tenured, satisfied employees also means excellence delivered to customers in every order.

Since returning to the foundry, Megan has expanded her management role with the board of directors and works on policies and risk management. She still assists with customer needs, overseeing the scheduling and customer service departments and expediting urgent orders. Jim still provides guidance and works with the customers.

In fact, Jim says this process of passing the torch to Megan reinvigorates him. He and Megan have frank discussions about the foundry’s future that create positive outcomes so customers can talk to a Kirsh for years to come.
